​Tia-Star Austin – I am a first-class English Literature and Language graduate with a level 5 TEFL qualification. I am highly adaptive, having experience working with many different children and young people with a huge variety of needs, ages and personalities. My friendly, enthusiastic, and fun-loving demeanor makes me incredibly approachable for children, allowing my teaching to be dynamic and engaging

Experience

Higher Level Teaching Assistant – St Anne’s Catholic School (October 2019 – September 2021): After being employed as a Teaching Assistant at St Anne’s, I was shortly promoted to the position of Higher-Level Teaching Assistant. My responsibilities included managing the SEND department, profiling of the students that were referred to SEND, and making sure the students receive the correct support in order to access the full educational curriculum.

➢ Teaching Assistant – Teaching Personnel (September 2019 – October 2019): 

I worked as a Teaching Assistant where I was given the opportunity to work within a variety of schooling environments, ranging from primary, secondary, special needs and behavioural needs.

➢ Activity Leader – TEG English (June 2019 – September 2019): 

As an Activity Leader, I was responsible for up to 15 children ranging from 9 to 15 years. As well as encouraging their English speaking, I organise activities for the children to improve their team ethic and independence.

➢ Activity Leader – Harbour Hotel (May 2018 – September 2018): 

I worked as an activity leader teaching arts and crafts to children ages 6 to 16- years. This allowed me to develop my skills of leadership and providing the younger generation with skills within the arts.
