University of Languages & International Studies (ULIS)

The University of Languages and International Studies – Vietnam National University, Hanoi announces the enrollment plan for the 2024 session of the English Language Teaching Profession Course for Foreigners as follows:

Course information

1. Eligibility:
   • Native English speakers with a diploma or higher.
   • Foreigners with a diploma or higher in English.
   • Foreigners with a diploma or higher and a language proficiency certificate at level 5 or higher according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework used in Vietnam or its equivalent (hereinafter referred to as students).
2. Enrollment type: Training course and certificate issuance.
3. Training format: Combination of face-to-face and online learning, and practical internships.
4. Training fee: 16.800.000 VND per student.
5. Training location: University of Languages and International Studies, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, No. 2 Pham Van Dong Street, Dinh Cong Ward, Cau Giay District, Hanoi.
6. Study schedule: Classes will be organized according to a flexible timetable (weekday or weekend, daytime or evening). The first session is scheduled to commence on April 16, 2024.

VPFET’s program

The program includes 11 topics: 10 topics on knowledge, methods and skills of teaching English and 01 internship topic. The program has a total of 160 teaching periods, each period is 45 minutes, equivalent to 120 teaching hours. Topics include:

• Overview of the culture and context of teaching and learning English in Vietnam;
• Theory and methods of learning English;
• Methods of teaching English language knowledge;
• Methods of teaching English skills;
• Classroom management;
• Applying information technology and exploiting and developing teaching materials;
• Inspection and evaluation methods;
• English teaching methods for Vietnamese children;
• English teaching methods for Vietnamese teenagers;
• Develop lesson plans;
• Internship.

Established in 1955, the University of Foreign Languages – Vietnam National University, Hanoi (ULIS-VNU) is one of the oldest universities in Vietnam. After more than 65 years of construction and growth, the School has a rich tradition and experience, and has made many valuable contributions in training, foreign language research, linguistics and international studies in Vietnam.

ULIS is one of the language universities licensed by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam to provide English language training and certification for foreigners in Vietnam.
