English for Corporates: Level Intermediate

Course objectives:

Level Intermediate aims to improve communication skills and help students use English fluently. The course helps students:
  • Communicate fluently in office situations
  • Develop professional skills: presentation, negotiation, meeting…
  • Pronounce English like a native speaker, confidently communicate with foreign customers
  • Students achieve output level: Level B2 Speaking

Class organization form:

  • Offline classes are held at the Enterprise, or at the EIV Office, or at the location requested by the Enterprise
  • Online classes are held on online tools via the MyEIV learning system, Google Meet or Zoom
Classes are organized in a variety of forms with 1 teacher for 1 – 3 students, or concentrated classes with a maximum of 15 students with the same input English level.

Course duration:

Total 80 hours, each session is 90 minutes. Students self-study 20 – 40 hours on the MyEIV learning system.

The course is taught by100% Native Teachers, students have the most natural English learning and communication environment, quickly improving communication skills, listening and speaking English like native speakers.

  • Stage 1 (30 hours): Jobs and work

Project: Meeting – Discussing proposals in a meeting

  • Stage 2 (30 hours): Business Life

          + Working together

Project: Role-play – Supporting a colleague

  • Stage 3 (20 hours): In the “tech” world

          + R&D in Tech

          + Green business

  • Communication skills: Small talk; Checking and clarifying; Solving workflow problems; Making group decision; Negotiating team roles; Supporting a colleague; Giving explaination; Feedback in review meeting
  • Writing skills: Asking for information; Short communications; An online review form; Confirming arrangements; Letter about a price increase; Making requests; Preparing slides; An intranet update

Business Skills: Dealing with problems, starting a meeting, presenting results, phoning to change arrangements, present facts and figures, being positive in meetings, dealing with technical problems, managing questions

EIV uses and compiles textbooks from Business Partner A2+ and Business Partner B1 books, including:

  • Coursebook & Audio
  • Teacher’s book & Teacher’s Materials
  • Workbook & Audio
  • Videos

Classroom testing and management:

With the English Breakthrough course (Level Elementary), students will take 2 tests:
  • Mid-term test: after finishing 30 hours and 60 hours of study, students will take a test in the form of a project or a short presentation, simulating a situation.
  • The final test includes a paper test and a communication skills test. With the paper test, students are assessed on Listening – Comprehension skills, tested on vocabulary and sentence structure usage, and writing skills. With the communication skills test, native teachers will directly grade the test; students will take the test in the form of an oral interview with the teacher, or make a short presentation, simulating a situation.
EIV specialists monitor and manage classes on the MyEIV learning materials system and send reports to the Board of Directors regularly. The report includes:
  • Course program and textbook
  • Roll-up of classes
  • Reminder system and assignment, submission, homework grading
  • Learning results report
