James Trevor Austin is an American teacher who has worked at EIV for over 3 years. He is currently teaching at a foreign language-specialized high school. With his precise, punctual and dedicated teaching style, he is always highly appreciated and loved by his students. ELT- ACET (2019 – 2020)

I worked at ACET for 9 months. I taught 2 adult classes, one in General English and one in Business English. But the majority of my teaching was in their First Steps program, teaching middle and high schools. I taught General English and some Academic English largely

in the Cambridge method.

 ELT- VCV/ Smartlink (2018 – 2019)

During my first 6 months in Vietnam, I was teaching in exchange for room and board. I’ve taught primary students to adults – mostly adults – following various textbooks. I spent 4 and a half months at VCV and 3 weeks at Smartlink. The rest of the time, I did a little traveling.

 ELT- Sejong/ Shane (2009 – 2013)

• I spent 2 years at Sejong Academy, teaching grades 3-7 as a supplementary English teacher. The focus was to guide the students through their textbooks and provide them with an opportunity to practice their speaking. I spent 1 year at Shane English, mostly teaching primary and middle school students – occasionally high schools and adults. For primary students, lessons followed Shane’s own textbooks and used the PPP method to practice all 4 skills. Older students focused on preparing for English proficiency
