Ivan Munro
About Teacher
Teacher Ivan Munro is passionate about learning and that passion shows when he teaches or coaches children. He is a hard worker and he works well with other people or as a part of a team. He has a lot of experience as a well-paid English teacher in Vietnam (1 year) and he truly enjoyed working in Vietnam and with the children in public schools. He does have a Bachelor of Humanities degree and heI also completed my 160-hour TEFL teaching qualification as well. He has worked as a basketball coach with children of various age groups for 3 years while studying.
He also has experience in teaching life skills to the students that he coached as part of a development program during that time. He also has experience teaching English as a volunteer at an underprivileged village school in Cambodia to children of all levels of English. He likes to grow potential in children and this is his main motivation when teaching or coaching.
Experience
(2017 – 2019) English and Science teacher – EIV Hanoi, Vietnam.
He has been working for EIV in Hanoi at various levels for the past two years and he has always received excellent feedback from various schools and centers in Hanoi.
(2018) Writer and content editor – Hottab, Hanoi, Vietnam.
He worked as an official content writer for Hottab and he was also in charge of creating website, blog and application content.
(2016 – 2017) English teacher and private tutor – Grow Green – Ha Long, Phu Tho and Hanoi, Vietnam.
He worked as an English teacher in Ha Long City, Phu Tho City and Hanoi City for one year during 2016 and 2017. He taught grades 1 – 5 as well as kindergarten (ages 2 – 5), and he did private tutoring for adults at a basic and intermediate level.
(2015 – 2016) English Teacher and coordinator – Public School – South Sulawesi – Indonesia.
He taught grades 4-6 in South Sulawesi for one month as a volunteer at a charity organization. He planned the lessons for the classes and used a conversational approach to encourage learning.
(2015) English teacher and English program coordinator – Angkor Legacy Academy – Siem Reap, Cambodia.
It was his job to teach three classes a day to children of all levels (1, 2, 3) and ages (6-18). He also had the responsibility of planning his own lessons and to help formulate the program by which they taught the students.
(2013 – 2015) Basketball coach and life skills teacher – Peace Players International – Durban, Kwa Zulu-Natal.
He was in charge of coaching and teaching various age groups during his time with this NGO. The life skills that he taught included teaching poor children between the ages of 12 and 15 about healthy relationships, sexual education and safety, friendship and leadership building as well as general life skills.
